Pastor Ed Eberhart has been the Senior Minister of the First Christian Church of Barnesville since November 1998. Prior to that, he served the church as Associate and Youth Minister for one year. During his time in the pastorate, the congregation has experienced significant growth and completed a major building project with the church’s New Life Center, an activity and ministry facility located directly behind the church building. Prior to becoming the Senior Minister in Barnesville, Pastor Eberhart served briefly in small Christian churches in St. Clairsville and Morristown, Ohio.  
Pastor Eberhart is very active in the Barnesville community, serving as a member and Trustee of the Barnesville Community Foundation, current Secretary and Past-President of the Barnesville Rotary Club, Past-President of the Barnesville Area Ministerial Association, Founding member and current Board Chairman of the Community Christian Mission which oversees The Haven, Barnesville’s downtown Christian Youth Center, Member of the Barnesville Area Education Foundation, and volunteer Chaplain for the Barnesville High School Shamrock football team.  Since 2015, he has served as a Trustee at Belmont College in St. Clairsville, Ohio. At various times he has also served on a myriad of village, school, and community committees. In 2000, Pastor Eberhart was the recipient of Standard Publishing’s “Outstanding Young Minister” award and he has also been awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship through Rotary International. In addition to his ministerial duties, Mr. Eberhart is a licensed salesperson with Harvey Goodman Realtor, working out of the Barnesville and Cambridge offices. He received his real estate license in 2005 and previously worked for Century 21 Bethel Agency, Inc. He is a member of the Ohio Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.
Pastor Eberhart has been a resident of Barnesville his entire life. He is the Valedictorian of the class of 1993 of Barnesville High School. He is also a 1997 summa cum laude graduate and Valedictorian of Muskingum (College) University in New Concord, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History with a minor in Speech Communication. Additionally, he graduated with honors in 2000 from Ashland Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts degree in Christian
Ministry and has since taken extensive continuing education at the seminary and has hopes of one day completing a Doctor of Ministry degree. He has also attended Hondros College in Columbus, where he received his real estate sales certification and has taken numerous continuing education courses in real estate sales.  In 2013, Mr. Eberhart served as an adjunct
instructor at Belmont College where he taught the Real Estate Capstone course.
Pastor Eberhart and wife Heather, an English instructor at Barnesville High School, have been married for fourteen years and are the parents of a eleven year old daughter, Anna Elizabeth, and a nine year old son, Benjamin Edward. The Eberharts reside
on Tacoma Rd in Barnesville and spend their summers at a home on Piedmont Lake. In his spare time, Pastor Eberhart enjoys reading, going to the lake, traveling with his family, following national politics, and attending Pittsburgh Pirate baseball games.
